GL 1800 Honda Goldwing® Suspension Lowering Bracket

Patent Pending

  1. Place bike on center stand.
  2. Remove rear wheel. – Some are not removing the rear wheel and just working from underneath to remove old link or bracket. (Your call)
  3. Remove the bump stop for center stand from exhaust mount. - BUMPER
  4. Remove lower front visible bolt from bracket. A - 31 ft. lbs. – when assembling
  5. Remove lower rear visible bolt from bracket. B - 47 ft. lbs. - when assembling
  6. RRaise swingarm drive line upward in highest position to gain access to upper bracket bolt (propped up). C - 47 ft. lbs. - when assembling
  7. remover upper bolt. C
  8. Remove bracket.
  9. Install new bracket, reversing steps from above. (4,5,6,7)
  10. Retorque all bracket bolts to factory spec.
  11. Re-install bump stop for center stand.
  12. Install side stand taperd shim under kick stand base.
  13. Reinstall rear tire if necessary and REMOVE your “STOCK” center stand !!!
  14. Recommend Power Park center stand from Baker-Built
  15. The fork tubes should be loosened and pushed up 1/2" to 5/8" in order to drop the front. ( Triple Tree ) Make sure to support the front of the bike before doing this.
  16. Install Side stand Tapered Shim under where it is bolted on at frame with arrow “UP”. Loosen all 3 bolts-then remove bottom 2 & insert shim and Re-insert bottom bolts and re-tighten.
